Denise had been studying the locations where the reported rapes had occurred. While there were only five so far, she thought she had detected a possible pattern. It was nearly two weeks since Kelly Stevens had been raped, and Dave West, Jeff Reynolds and Rudy Barnes were hunting once again. This time they were canvassing the parks. Dave signaled Jeff and Rudy. They flicked their cigarettes away and began jogging down the path. they hadn't gone twenty yards when they saw the young girl jog around the bend in the path. As the distance closed, Jeff and Rudy separated to allow the girl to pass between them. Jeff smiled and nodded to distract her from Rudy. She smiled back at Jeff as she began passing between the two. Pushing Dave out of the way, Rudy drove his fist into the helpless girls stomach several more times. When Jeff released his grip on her, she collapsed in the grass, gasping and trying to breathe.
